SO... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Yeah, it's early... but like Francis said to me last night on twitter, "(It) feels like Christmas morning to me! I hope I don't get coal in my stockings."

CBR and COMICVINE have already posted their reviews of Flash #1...

  1. Hey Brian thought I would repost my thoughts on the first issue on this thread. Congratulations on all the great reviews but after reading the issue I'm certainly not surprised. And the 2nd issue is better? Man, Flash fans are lucky as hell right now!

Read the first issue...Great start Brian! Art and coloring are AMAZING! I also loved the fast paced nature of the story. No decompression is a huge plus for me. I was also very impressed with your guys writing! An excellent twist at the end. I love how you showed Barry's human side along with his obvious super heroism.

My fears seem to be alleviated at this point. (on a side note i noticed the DC mystery woman on the panel with Iris, Patty and Barry)

Congratulations on a hopefully long and quality run! Though I don't see how you guys can keep up this pace! I mean DAMN Shit was happening fast and furious! Seriously, excellent start Mr Buccellato. From a very satisfied Flash fan.

  3. This was a great start to the book. Absolutely the best Flash book in years. The book was fast paced, but didn't feel light on material. I think Manapul's art is even better than it was on the previous run. This is the Barry Allen that will draw new fans, not the angsty version from the previous run. I think this book will definitely attract new fans.

This book had the best dialogue that I have seen in a Flash book in a long time. There were no monologues and no cheesy comic dialogue. I am very impressed.

  5. I thought it was a solid issue. I was actually surprised that The Flash didn't do anything spectacular like every iteration of the character is known to do when faced with situations like these. Barry did the basics, and that still proved to be entertaining. I'd like to think that had a lot to do with your writing, but my heart tells me its more likely just me being a speedster fanatic and being easy to please. The supporting cast were all given moments to show themselves, and while I'd like to see more of an unique voice from Patty, I thought Iris was fantastic. I can't compliment you enough on how much she made me smile and laugh.

The lines in The Flash's suit still annoy me but I know better than to hold that against you and Francis. Like Patty, I'd like to see more of Barry's personality beyond the "I care too much" perception he's had lately. I don't expect everything to be developed overnight though, so for now, I'll rejoice in having a (solid) Flash book back on the stands. Keep up the good work.

  6. Loved the art. Story was decent, but didn't knock me out or anything. Don't care at all for Barry being single, still think that was a terrible idea. Would much, much, much rather have read about Wally West.
